Alejandra Hernández
Alejandra Hernández (Bogotá/CO, 1989)
Lives and works near Bogotá.
Alejandra dives in themes connected with the multidimensional experience of the human and mostly the female embodied experience and the relation to the natural world, plants of power, altered states of consciousness, creation, womb power as well as symbolism attached to animals and plants and mythologies. Having a keen interest in color and the exploration of oneiric and otherworldly situations merging with the mundane of everyday life.
On the other hand, she has an ongoing live portrait project where together with the sitters she portrays, they co-create a situation and setting including objects and paraphernalia belonging to them in order to provide a context where they can feel comfortable and related to. They are spaces created as a resistance to the fast pace of contemporary living, a space of physical presence and care.
